Norway will increase aid to Zimbabwe

Norway will increase its aid to Zimbabwe with NOK 42 million to a total of NOK 200 million this year, Prime Minister Jens Stoltenberg told Prime Minister Morgan Tsvangirai in Oslo today.

A strategy for comprehensive Norwegian civilian and military efforts in Faryab province, Afghanistan

The main aim of the Norwegian engagement in Afghanistan is to support the Afghan authorities in their responsibility to ensure stability, security and development. In accordance with the Paris donor conference agreement and NATOs political-military plan, the international society must improve coordination of its efforts in order to strengthen Afghan capacity and ownership.

New Air Service Agreements formally signed

New Air Services Agreements between Singapore and Norway, Denmark and Sweden, respectively, were formally signed today. Mr. Erik Lahnstein, State Secretary of the Royal Ministry of Transport and Communications, signed on behalf of Norway, while Mr. Raymond Lim, Minister for Transport and Vice Minister for Foreign Affairs, signed on behalf of Singapore. Representatives of the Danish and Swedish Embassies in Oslo signed on behalf of Denmark and Sweden, respectively.
