The Government at work
In Norway, most decisions made by the executive power are taken by a minister in his or her capacity as head of ministry. Any decision which a minister does not have the autority to make will be made by the Council of State, ie by the government assembled as the King's Council.
Stoltenberg's second Government - Norway's present government

The term government is used in everyday language in two senses: the prime minister and the ministers gathered for meetings as the Council of State, presided over by the King, and the ministers gathered for government conferences, chaired by the prime minister.
Jens Stoltenberg's second government was appointed by King Harald V on 17 October 2005. It is a majority government representing the Labour Party, the Socialist Left Party and the Centre Party.
