Minister of Finance Kristin Halvorsen

Kristin Halvorsen (age 45) was today appointed Minister of Finance. Halvorsen is the leader of the Socialist Left Party of Norway, and has been Member of Parliament since 1989. During this time she has been Member of the Standing Committee on Foreign Affairs, Member of the Standing Committee on Scrutiny and Constitutional Affairs, and Member of the Standing Committee on Finance. Kristin Halvorsen is the first woman to be appointed Minister of Finance in Norway
