Department of Domestic Affairs

The Department of Domestic Affairs assists the Prime Minister and the Government Secretary in the ongoing coordination of the Government's work.

Matters to be dealt with in government conferences are reviewed, as are the lists of items to be dealt with in the Council of State before they are submitted to the preparatory Council of State.

The Department also participates in some inter-ministerial working groups, and assists the political staff in various day-to-day tasks, including responding to letters and enquiries addressed to the Prime Minister.

The work in the Department is organised so that each employee follows up all the cases from a certain number of ministries.  Particular emphasis has been given to acquiring staff with a wide range of experience and a broad educational background.

There are six employees in the Department of Domestic Affairs.
