The Office of the Prime Minister has today appointed Ms. Laila Melkevoll (34), county secretary, Bergen, as political adviser to Minister of Local Government and Regional Development Liv Signe Navarsete.

The Office of the Prime Minister has today appointed Ms. Laila Melkevoll (34), county secretary, Bergen, as political adviser to Minister of Local Government and Regional Development Liv Signe Navarsete.

Laila Melkevoll comes from the post as secretary of Hordaland Centre Party. She has previously been administrative secretary at Clariant Oil Services Scandinavia AS and secretary of the Centre Party’s youth organization in the County of Sogn og Fjordane. She has also been third deputy Member of Storting for Sogn og Fjordane Centre Party 2005-2009, and Centre Party member of Sogn of Fjordane County Council 2003-2009. Melkevoll holds a Cand. Mag. degree from the University of Bergen 2001.

The Government represents the Labour Party (Lab.), the Socialist Left Party (Soc.) and the Centre Party (Cent.). The list of political advisors is now as follows:
