    In today’s Council of State, The King has appointed Ms. Sigrun Gjerløw Aasland as acting state secretary to Minister of Climate and Environment, Mr. Andreas Bjelland Eriksen, in the period that state secretary, Ms. Ragnhild Sjoner Syrstad, settles parental leave.

    The government is pursuing an active policy to facilitate socio-economically profitable storage of CO2 on the Norwegian continental shelf. The policy allows industries with large emission sources to pay for permanent storage instead of releasing CO2 into the atmosphere. This opens for major emission reductions in Europe.

Norway will continue to provide support for Ukrainians, but is imposing more restrictions to bring the level of arrivals closer to that of the Nordic countries.
