NOK 350 million in support to Moldova

Norway is expanding its cooperation with Moldova and will provide a further NOK 350 million in support under the Nansen Support Programme for Ukraine. Prime Minister Jonas Gahr Støre announced the additional support during a meeting with Moldovan President Maia Sandu on Tuesday. Norwegian assistance to Moldova increased significantly last year. Moldova is now the seventh largest recipient of Norwegian aid.

Strengthening the energy bonds between Moldova and Norway

During the state visit from Moldova, an energy roundtable was held at Norad. At the event, an MOU was signed by the energy ministers of Moldova and Norway on closer cooperation between the two countries. During the roundtable discussions several Norwegian companies gave valuable insights on how to support Moldova in their energy transition.

Norway leads the way in offering commercial CO2 storage

The government is pursuing an active policy to facilitate socio-economically profitable storage of CO2 on the Norwegian continental shelf. The policy allows industries with large emission sources to pay for permanent storage instead of releasing CO2 into the atmosphere. This opens for major emission reductions in Europe.

Norway supports fund for political prisoners in Belarus
