Regional measures lifted for the municipalities in Viken county

The Norwegian Government has decided to lift the regional measures for the municipalities in Viken county. The infection situation indicates that these municipalities can now return to ordinary national rules. The changes will enter into effect on Wednesday 26 May at 12 am.

'The positive developments in the COVID-19 situation in Viken have continued. Following the recommendation of the Norwegian Directorate of Health and the Norwegian Institute of Public Health, the Norwegian Government has decided to lift the regional measures.

It is now up to the municipalities themselves to assess the need to introduce local measures in addition to the ordinary national rules. Some of the municipalities have already adopted such local rules or are in the processing of doing so', says Minister of Health and Care Services Bent Høie.

Level B (a high level of measures) will be lifted for the following municipalities on Wednesday 26 May:

  • Lørenskog
  • Ullensaker

Level C (a moderate level of measures) will be lifted for the following municipalities on Wednesday 26 May:

  • Lillestrøm
  • Nordre Follo
  • Rælingen
  • Ås
