Webcast: Meeting of the Parties to the European Protocol on water and health

Leaders from health and environment in Europe meets to discuss water and health safety challenges in the region from November 25th to 27th.

Member Parties and other interested countries gather in Oslo for the third Meeting of the Parties to the European Protocol on water and health. For three days they will be discussing important questions regarding how to secure safe water and sanitation for the European region. On the agenda is amongst other issues how to secure equitable access to water and sanitation services. In the Pan-European region 19 million people still don't have access to improved water sources and 67 million people lack access to improved sanitation facilities. More than 13.000 children under the age of 14 dies every year from water related diarrhoea. The protocol is regarded as an important tool to combat this situation.
