Deadline for submission of offers is January 15th 2014.

-This launch represents the kick-off of the procurement of carbon credits for the Kyoto II period, where Norway has pledged to reduce its emissions to 84 percent of the 1990-level. This is an ambitious target which we now underpin by buying credits from stranded projects. In this way we are throwing a life jacket to a drowning market. We hope others will follow and restore confidence in the carbon market, a marked which has a potential to be one of the most effective instrument in the climate change policy, says the Norwegian Minister of Climate and the Environment, Tine Sundtoft.
