‘The US and Norway cooperate closely. We are also close allies, and I am looking forward to a constructive meeting,’ said Prime Minister Erna Solberg.
Prime Minister Solberg will meet President Trump in the White House on Wednesday 10 January. They will discuss the current security situation, cooperation in NATO, Norwegian-US interests, and international issues such as peace processes, climate change and trade.

‘The US is an important partner in the fields of security and trade. This meeting will give us an opportunity to present our views on global free trade and the importance of international cooperation to address climate change,’ said Ms Solberg.
Ms Solberg and Mr Trump have met twice before, at the NATO and G20 summits in 2017.
The meeting on 10 January is the first bilateral meeting between Ms Solberg and Mr Trump. Norwegian Minister of Foreign Affairs Ine Eriksen Søreide will also take part in the meeting. On the US side, Secretary of State Rex Tillerson, National Security Advisor Herbert Raymond McMaster, Chief of Staff John F. Kelly and Director of the CIA Mike Pompeo will take part.
