Prime Minister Solberg discussed sustainable development with the President of Ghana

Prime Minister Erna Solberg phoned President Nana Akufo-Addo of Ghana today to discuss the work of increasing engagement, commitment and results in the campaign to achieve the 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) adopted by the UN.
They discussed how to utilise the potential represented by regional organisations such as the African Union and the European Union, among other things.
Ms Solberg has co-chaired the SDG Advocates since the group was established by the Secretary-General of the UN in January 2016. On 11 April this year, Secretary-General Antonio Guterres appointed Mr Akufo-Addo as new co-chair of the 17 SDG Advocates, replacing Ghana’s former president, John Mahama.
Efforts to achieve the 17 SDGs, which range from eliminating poverty to combatting climate change, are crucial to ensure that everyone can benefit from globalisation.
