“Cultural policy is more important than ever, and key for the development of an inclusive society. Culture builds community, and is an important factor in finding a new direction for Norwegian society,” says newly appointed Minister of Culture Trine Skei Grande.

Among the changes to the government made by the King at an extraordinary cabinet meeting on 17 January 2018 is the appointment of member of parliament Trine Skei Grande (Liberal Party) as Minister of Culture. She replaces Linda Hofstad Helleland (Conservative Party).

Trine Skei Grande (48) comes from Overhalla. She has led the Liberal Party since 2010, and been a member of the Storting (the Norwegian parliament) since 2005.
