This committee is assessing the increase in migration and international mobility and the consequences for the welfare model.

This committee is assessing the increase in migration and international mobility and the consequences for the welfare model.

The committee will assess the effect of a more mobile population and the type of challenges the Norwegian welfare model will face due to the increase in movement across national borders.

The committee has been given a broad mandate and will, for example, examine social insurance schemes and the measures used in integration and labour market policy.

The committee will also consider whether there are aspects of immigration policy that are particularly relevant for the future design of the Norwegian welfare model.
The committee will submit its report to the Ministry of Children, Equality and Social Inclusion within 6 May 2011.
