The Patients' Injury Compensation Board (PSN)

The Patients’ Injury Compensation Board is appointed by the Norwegian crown and the government and consists of five permanent members, each with two deputies.

The Patients’ Injury Compensation Board is appointed by the Norwegian crown and the government and consists of five permanent members, each with two deputies. Its leader is a judge and two members shall be medical experts, i.e. doctors with cross-disciplinary experience, including general and hospital practice. The provisions of the Patient Injury Act also allow for appointment of medical personnel with other types of expertise. Two members are patient representatives. Members are appointed for a three-year period.
