NOC is the principal partner for the state government in matters concerning organized sport.
NOC is the principal partner for the state government in matters concerning organized sport. The overall objectives of contributions to the NOC are:
- Help maintain and develop the NOC as a voluntary, member-based organization.
- Contribute to maintaining and developing a wide range of activities through organized sport.
- Help maintain and secure the NOC as an open and inclusive organization, and contribute to sport clubs role as a valuable arena for the social community.
Other objectives have been articulated for the grants that are specifically aimed at children, adolescents, recreational sports and top-level sports.
Through grants to children, adolescents and recreational sports, the government seeks to contribute to a wide range of programs for children (6 -12 years) and adolescents (13 -19 years). Moreover, the contribution’s aim is to give sport clubs the best possible conditions.
The reasoning behind government funding for top-level sports is the role they play in creating cultural identity, and the population’s great interest in this phenomenon.
