Norway opens new embassy in Slovenia
On 1 December Ambassador May Britt Brofoss opened Norway’s new embassy in Ljubljana, the capital of Slovenia.
Slovenia will become a member of NATO next year. The reason for the decision to open an embassy in Ljubljana is that Norway wishes to have an active diplomatic presence in all NATO countries.
Norway also wishes to expand contact and co-operation with Slovenia since on 1 May 2004 the country will become a member of the EU. This means that it will also be part of the EEA and will therefore participate in the internal market together with Norway.
The Embassy’s address is Miklošičeva 20, 1000 Ljubljana
