Minister of International Development visits the Palestinian Area
International Development Minister Hilde F. Johnson will be visiting the Palestinian Area from Saturday 7 to Monday 9 February.
The main purpose of the visit is to follow up Norway’s development co-operation with the Palestinian Authority and to discuss how assistance can best be adapted to the current situation in the Middle East. Donor co-ordination will also be one of the topics on the agenda, and Norway plays a central role in these efforts. The Minister will be discussing with the Palestinian Authority and representatives of the international donor community how to make donor co-ordination as broad and as effective as possible.
Notes for editors
The Minister will be meeting with, among others, Prime Minister Abu Ala, Finance Minister Salam Fayyad, Planning Minister Nabeel Kassis and Education Minister Nabil Abul Hummus. The Minister’s itinerary will include Gaza and the West Bank.
