Country partnership to transform the energy sector.

The Energy+ Partnership is a partnership of countries and other stakeholders that aims to speed up the transition to a cleaner energy future. Countries will need to rethink the way they generate, distribute and use energy if they are to meet the challenges of climate change, energy poverty and green growth. Broad-based transformational action of this kind requires a sector-wide approach, which is one of the core features of the Energy+ Initiative.

A country-driven, sector-wide approach is a way of scaling up access to renewable energy and reducing emissions. It is the government in the recipient country that has the main responsibility for coordinating the actions and managing the resources involved.
