Minister Erik Solheim congratulates President Jagdeo of Guyana as The 2010 Champion of the Earth. This is the United Nations’ highest awards for environmental leadership.
– I would like to extend my warmest congratulations to President Jagdeo. The award is a well-deserved recognition of his efforts in the international arena to achieve a low carbon future, and in particular, his work to highlight the role of forests in a future climate change regime. His promotion of low carbon development is an example for others to follow. I look forward to continue working with him in our common battle against climate change, says Erik Solheim.
