Norway’s Prime Minister at ILO regional meeting

The Ninth European Regional Meeting of the International Labour Organization (ILO) will be held in Oslo 8–11 April 2013. Topics are labour, growth and social welfare. Hosting the meeting is Norway’s Minister of Labour, Ms Anniken Huitfeldt. Prime Minister Jens Stoltenberg will participate on the first day of the meeting.

The Ninth European Regional Meeting of the International Labour Organization (ILO) will be held in Oslo 8–11 April 2013. Topics are labour, growth and social welfare. The meeting gathers representatives of political authorities, employers and employees from 51 countries in Europe and Central Asia. The venue is Radisson Blu Plaza Hotel.

11.30 am: Norway’s Prime Minister Jens Stoltenberg takes part in a panel discussion on how to handle the consequences of the financial crisis.

Other panel participants are ILO’s Director-General Guy Ryder, Lithuanian President Dalia Grybauskaite, OECD Secretary General Angel Gurría and representatives of the international employer and employee organisations.

There will be a photo op. Venue: Sonja Henie Hall, 2nd floor.

12.30 pm: Press conference with the Prime Minister, the ILO General-Director, the Lithuanian President, the OECD Secretary General and s representatives of the international employer and employee organisations. Venue: Munch Hall, 1st floor. Representatives from the press are requested to be there no later than 12.20 pm.

13.15 pm: Prime Minister Stoltenberg will host a luncheon for the Lithuanian President, the ILO Director General and the OECD Secretary General. Minister of Labour Anniken Huitfeldt and Minister of Finance Sigbjørn Johnsen will also participate.

The luncheon will be held in the Government Guest House at Parkveien 45. Pool photo when guests are received by the Prime Minister (outside) and at the start of the luncheon.

Bilateral talks

The Prime Minister will also have bilateral talks with the President of Lithuania and the OECD Secretary General. Photo opportunity at the start of the talks:

After the meeting, at about 15.00, Stoltenberg and Grybauskaite will be available for press comments. Press should meet at the entrance to Riddervoldsgate 2 at 14.15 pm.
