Press release | Date: 15/07/2015
The Norwegian Ministry of Local Government and Modernisation hereby invites to a presentation to the press on Tuesday, 21 July at 1:30 p.m.
The exhibition in the July 22 Centre describes the terrorist attacks on 22 July 2011 and the society's subsequent handling of the attacks. The Centre is located in part of the first floor of Høyblokka (the government high-rise building that was bombed during the attack) in the Government Administration Complex.
During the presentation to the press, Tor Einar Fagerland, the project manager for the exhibition will show the press around and explain how the exhibition has been developed.
Those who were directly affected on 22 July 2011 will have an opportunity to see the exhibition before it is opened to the public. Out of consideration for the relatives of the victims, we request that editors respect the ban on publishing any pictures and text from the presentation to the press until after 18:30 p.m. on 21 July.
Due to considerations of available space, we request that you register for the presentation to the press.
Send an e-mail to firstname.lastname@example.org with names (of all journalists and photographers), editors and phone numbers.
The presentation to the press is only open to the press; remember to bring your press card.
Come to Johan Nygaardsvolls plass by the Reflecting Pool at 1:20 p.m.
Deadline for registration to the presentation to the press: Monday, 20 July at 4:00 p.m.
The July 22 Centre will be opened by Minister of Local Government and Modernisation Jan Tore Sanner on 22 July at 9:45 a.m. Please note that the press will not have an opportunity to visit the exhibition during the official opening. The Centre will open to the public at 2:00 p.m. on the same day.
The Department of Historical Studies at the Norwegian University of Science and Technology (NTNU) is professionally responsible for the Centre. The exhibition has been created in close collaboration with the Norwegian Labour Youth League (AUF) and the National Support Group for the Victims of the 22 July Attacks. The Norwegian Government Security and Service Organisation (DSS) runs the Centre.
