Sound economic governance
12/05/2022: The Norwegian economy is unusually strong and employment is at a record low. At the same time, however, Omicron, high electricity prices and war in Europe have necessitated unforeseen financial allocations. In the Revised Budget, the government has therefore taken active steps to compensate for increased expenditure.

Nordic support for Finland and Sweden
16/05/2022: ‘Finland’s and Sweden’s security is important to our security. Together with Denmark and Iceland, Norway stands ready to assist its Nordic neighbours by all means necessary should they be the victim of aggression on their territory before obtaining NATO membership,’ said Prime Minister Jonas Gahr Støre.

CCS cooperation with UK waste disposal industry
13/05/2022: CO2 emissions from London’s household rubbish will be captured and stored beneath the North Sea in the carbon storage facility of the Norwegian Longship CCS project. Cory, one of the UK’s leading waste management and recycling companies, will store 1.5 million tonnes of CO2 annually. This is the largest contract yet to be signed by Northern Lights, the CO2 transport and storage component of the Longship project.

Prime Ministers Johnson and Støre discussed the war in Ukraine and the green transition
13/05/2022: Norwegian Prime Minister Jonas Gahr Støre met with UK Prime Minister Boris Johnson in Downing Street on Friday. This was the first bilateral meeting between the two prime ministers. They signed a joint declaration on strategic cooperation between Norway and the UK.
