Norway must be able to solve the major challenges in areas such as health, education, and welfare. The goal is robust academic research environments that provide good quality higher education and research.
A structure must be created for tomorrow's knowledge society, which must respond to our collective national requirement not only today, but for many years to come. At the same time, it is important to safeguard the breadth of research, stretching from curiosity-driven basic research to applied research and contract research.
