Excellencies ,

Ladies and gentlemen,

Dear friends,

First of all I would like to thank Knut Magne Ringstad the director of Vinomarine for being our host this afternoon.

It is a pleasure to be here today and to take part in the opening of your new production facilities here at Hai Phong.

***

This week, Vietnam is the destination for an official visit from Norway.

Vietnam has attracted our attention for a quite a while.
Trade between Norway and Vietnam has increased by over 600 percent over the last 10 years and this has become an increasingly attractive place for trade and investments.

Vietnam and Norway’ relations have evolved from the traditional development cooperation – to trade and technical collaboration.
Today, Norwegian businesses like Jets, IMS and Libra are the key to Norway’s bilateral cooperation with Vietnam.

Here at the Hai Phong Industrial Zone you show us how you can combine the advantages of being a Norwegian company, with having operations in Vietnam.[1]

Vinomarine is a proud example of how technology and competence, developed on the Norwegian coast, can make itself relevant in other corners of the world.

Your long experience in development, production and sales of ship's equipment provide the basis of your investments.

And as Vinomarine works hard to become a preferred supplier in Asia – Vietnam can offer both skilled workers, competitive labour costs and a key location in this region.

Companies like Jets, IMS and Libra, looking outwards to new markets, are of great value to Norway.

I hope that this factory will be of mutual benefit to you and your partners in Vietnam.

Because Norwegian companies set high standards I believe Norwegian companies are good partners in Vietnam’s further development.

I am certain that Vinomarine will contribute to give the Norwegian industry a good reputation in Vietnam.

I wish you the very best of luck with the new production facilities – and in all your future business here in Vietnam.

Thank you for your attention.
