Innlegg holdt av klima- og miljøminister Tine Sundtoft i "Pariskomiteen" på COP 21, Paris 9. desember, 2015. (sjekkes mot framføring)

President

Let me also add Norway's voice to support your leadership, Mr President, and welcome the new text as the basis for our negotiations.

We need to leave Paris with an agreement. But not just any agreement.

We need to agree on an ambitious and strong, legal agreement. To achieve this, we need a clear purpose and ambitious long term goals. And we need a strong ambition mechanism in the agreement.

We support other countries asking for the agreement to reflect human rights, health, just transition of the work force, gender and empowerment of women, environmental integrity, the rights of indigenous peoples and intergenerational equity.

We will work with parties to find the right placement of these important issues.

We have come a long way.

Now, we politicians, need to be fully involved.

I and my team is ready to work day and night.

Lets get to work.

Thank you
