Press Invitation: Welcome to the Internet Governance Forum (IGF)

Lillestrøm, 23–27 June 2025 – Norway is hosting the Internet Governance Forum (IGF) 2025, the UN’s premier gathering for the future of the Internet. This will be the largest UN event ever held in Norway, with thousands of participants from governments, international organizations, industry, civil society, academia and technical communities. We hereby invite journalists to IGF to report on the Internet’s future.

– The IGF is the world’s largest forum for discussions on the conditions shaping tomorrow’s Internet and global digital development. This is vital, because some countries seek to curb freedom online. Close international cooperation and open dialogue around Internet governance are crucial to ensure that the Internet remains open, secure and free for everyone, says Minister of Digitalisation and Public Governance Karianne Tung.
