Gratulasjonsbrev til Joseph R. Biden Jr.

Dear President-elect Joseph R. Biden Jr.

On behalf of the Norwegian Government, I would like to extend my warmest congratulations to you and Vice President-elect Kamala Harris on your election victory.

Norway looks forward to cooperating with you and your administration on a wide range of shared priorities and challenges, many of which require joint international efforts and will benefit greatly from the indispensable leadership of the United States. Strong, effective multilateral institutions are key to resolving global issues, and I am confident that the collaboration between our two countries in the UN Security Council will be fruitful.

As close partners and allies, the US and Norway share fundamental values and interests. We attach great importance to transatlantic solidarity and regard NATO as a guarantor of allied security and stability. We must act together as an international community in order to mitigate climate change and combat the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic.

Norway will continue to be a trusted partner and ally of the United States in these efforts and more, and I very much look forward to continuing to develop and strengthen our longstanding tradition of excellent transatlantic cooperation.

I wish you every success in the important tasks that lie ahead.
