I think the suggested changes to the electoral rules are riduculous and non-inclusive of 'foreign' residents on Svalbard. It seems that Svalbard is Norway and also not Norway when it suits the governing bodies. This is more often than not during circumstances that negatively impact us 'foreigners'.

I am resident of Svalbard since 2012, this is my home.....I am not just passing through like many do after 2-3 years. I would like to have the right to vote on what happens in my home town. I believe that these changes to the rules will negatively impact the society in Longyearbyen and make it even less inclusive than it is now for foreign residents.

Also, it is debatable - do these suggested changes actually follow the regulations outlined in the Svalbard Treaty?
