27. november sluttet Norge seg til EUs erklæring om restriktive tiltak i lys av situasjonen i Venezuela.

On 13 November 2017, the Council adopted Decision (CFSP) 2017/2074[1].

The Decision provides for targeted measures in the form of an export ban on arms and certain goods and equipment that might be used for internal repression.

The Council Decision also establishes a legal framework for targeted measures against persons or entities involved in or responsible for certain activities that undermine democracy or the rule of law, or for serious human rights violations.

The Candidate Countries the former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia*, Montenegro* and Albania*, the country of the Stabilisation and Association Process and potential candidate Bosnia and Herzegovina, and the EFTA country Norway, member of the European Economic Area, as well as the Republic of Moldova and Georgia align themselves with this Council Decision.

They will ensure that their national policies conform to this Council Decision.

The European Union takes note of this commitment and welcomes it.
