As Minister of Fisheries, Per Sandberg (Progress Party) is responsible for fisheries and aquaculture management, seafood safety, fish health and welfare, framework conditions for the seafood trade and market access for Norwegian seafood.

Replies to the Storting

Mr Sandberg received a trade certificate as a process operator in 1998, and worked as a process operator for 15 years, before he was elected as a member of Parliament. Mr Sandberg has been a member of Parliament for Nord-Trøndelag county since 1997. He has chaired the Standing Committee on Justice in the period 2009-2013, and prior to that he chaired the Standing Committee on Transport and Communications in 2005-2009. He has previously been a member of the Standing Committee on Foreign Affairs and Defence, the Standing Committee on Local Government and the Standing Committee on Family, Cultural Affairs and Government Administration. Mr Sandberg has also been a member of the European Consultative Committee. He served as a UN soldier in Lebanon in 1986. Per Sandberg has been First Vice Chair of the Norwegian Progress Party since 2006.
