Changes in the Government

In the Council of State today, the King has made changes in the Government.

Minister of Foreign Affairs, Ms. Anniken Huitfeldt, has been honourably discharged from her office.

Minister of Labour and Social Inclusion, Ms. Marte Mjøs Persen, has been honourably discharged from her office.

Minister of Local Government and Regional Development, Mr. Sigbjørn Gjelsvik, has been honourably discharged from his office.

Minister of Fisheries and Ocean Policy, Mr. Bjørnar Selnes Skjæran, has been honourably discharged from his office.

Ms. Tonje Brenna has been honourably discharged as Minister of Education, and has been appointed new Minister of Labour and Social Inclusion.

Mr. Espen Barth Eide has been honourably discharged as Minister of Climate and Environment, and has been appointed new Minister of Foreign Affairs.

Mr. Andreas Bjelland Eriksen has been appointed Minister of Climate and Environment.

Mr. Erling Sande has been appointed Minister of Local Government and Regional Development.

Ms. Kari Nessa Nordtun has been appointed Minister of Education.

Ms. Karianne O. Tung has been appointed Minister of Digitalisation and Public Governance.

Ms. Cecilie Myrseth has been appointed Minister of Fisheries and Ocean Policy.

The changes are effective as of 13:00 hours today, 16 October 2023.
