The Ministry of Finance has made temporary changes in the mortgage regulation in response to the COVID-19 pandemic.

The mortgage regulation allows a certain amount of a lender’s approved loans to deviate from the requirements in the regulation. This quarterly quota is 10 per cent of the volume of a lender’s approved loans outside Oslo and 8 per cent for mortgages in Oslo.

On 23 March the Ministry of Finance adopted a regulation which increases both quotas to 20 per cent from 1 April to 30 June 2020.
