State Secretary Ole Martin Juul Slyngstadli was appointed State Secretary to the Minister of Health and Care Services on 7 May 2026, and is serving in an acting capacity for the period from 11 May to 16 October 2026.
From December 2024 to May 2026, Slyngstadli was an adviser to the Labour Party’s parliamentary group, working with the justice policy team. He has also served as political adviser to the Labour Party’s foreign affairs and defence policy team. Slyngstadli completed a Master of Laws degree at the University of Oslo in 2022, and from January 2023 to February 2024 he worked as a trainee solicitor at the law firm Dæhlin Sand. Prior to this he led the clinic for free legal aid, Jussbuss.
From 2011 to 2019, Slyngstadli served as a member of Stavanger City Council, where he chaired the Control Committee from October 2015 to December 2019.
