Communication activities at the Office of the Prime Minister are primarily the responsibility of the Prime Minister's State Secretary for Press Affairs.

The State Secretary is the Prime Minister's spokesperson, and keeps close contact with the information service of the governing party or parties.

The Communication Section is managed by the Head of Communication, who is directly responsible to the Government Secretary.  The section works in close cooperation with the Office's adminstrative and political staff, in particular the State Secretary for Press Affairs.

The Head of Communication will normally act as the Prime Minister's spokesperson in the absence of the State Secretary for Press Affairs, or when asked to do so in other cases.
