International call for enhanced control of AI development
Finnish President Alexander Stubb and Norwegian Prime Minister Jonas Gahr Støre have launched an international call for control over development of frontier AI models. 22 leaders from around the world support the appeal. President Stubb and Prime Minister Støre are urging more world leaders to endorse the initiative.

Key priority areas for the Norwegian delegation include the wars in Ukraine and the Middle East, climate change, the safe use of AI and the reform process in the UN.
Norway to strengthen cooperation with Canada
On Sunday, Prime Minister Jonas Gahr Støre met with Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney in Ottawa. The two Prime Ministers said in a joint statement that Norway and Canada would be entering into an agreement on establishing even closer defence cooperation.
