On 1 January 1990, the Ministry of Government Administration and Consumer Affairs had its name changed to the Ministry of Family and Consumer Affairs, listed here as the Ministry of Family and Consumer Affairs (of 1990). Government administration affairs were transferred to the new Ministry of Government Administration and Labour (of 1990). Family affairs were transferred from the Ministry of Social Affairs (of 1916) and the Ministry of Justice and the Police, housing affairs from the Ministry of Local Government and Labour (of 1948) and product security affairs from the Ministry of the Environment.
On 1 January 1991, the Ministry of Family and Consumer Affairs (of 1990) had its name changed to the Ministry of Children and Family Affairs, listed here as the Ministry of Children and Family Affairs (of 1991).
