Foreign Minister Børge Brende says Norway shares the concern expressed by other members of the international community about the five-year sentence handed down to Malaysian opposition leader Mr Anwar Ibrahim.
- The conviction and sentencing of Mr Anwar raises serious questions regarding due process of law. Norway values its long-standing and warm relationship with Malaysia, and we encourage Malaysia to ensure rule of law in a transparent and fair manner and to honour its commitment to human rights, says Brende.
