Responsibilities and tasks in the Ministry of Digitalisation and Public Governance

The Ministry of Digitalisation and Public Governance (DFD) is responsible for policy formulation and administration in a number of key areas of society.

Areas of responsibility:

  • Responsibility for operation and development of county governor offices
  • Buildings, security and joint services in the Government Administration Complex
  • Parts of the data protection policy, including the Personal Data Regulations
  • Electronic communication
  • Public administration policy, modernisation, ICT policy and digitalisation of the public sector, business-oriented ICT, Digital21 and resources for ICT research
  • Contact ministry for the Royal House of Norway
  • Government personnel and employer policy
