International migration 2010-2011

The Norwegian SOPEMI-report, prepared by civil servants from the Ministry of Justice, the Ministry of Children, Equality and Social Inclusion, the Ministry of Labour and the Ministry of Education and Research - based mainly on figures from Statistics Norway and the Norwegian Directorate of Immigration - contains statistics on migration and on the composition of immigrants and their Norwegian-born children.

It also presents an overview of developments in immigration and integration policies. The report covers the major types of immigration (labour, family, humanitarian, student), citizenship, integration in general, training and education, labour market issues, electoral participation and discrimination.

It also lists new relevant publications in English. The report for Norway and similar reports from the other member countries are used as important input for the annual publication from the OECD, International Migration Outlook. See OECD's website.
