This report recently published by Centre for Food Policy, Norwegian Agricultural Economics Research Institute, deals with the question on how equivalence and mutual recognition can be applied as trade facilitating tools in international food trade. The report is of high relevance to discussions on equivalence both in context of the WTO/SPS and WTO/TBT Agreements, and furthermore the Codex Alimentarius Committee on Food Import and Export Inspection and Certification Systems.
