Helga Pedersen today met with the Scottish minister Michael Russell. They have discussed possibilities for closer cooperation between Scotland and Norway on aquaculture and challenges related to climate change.
Russell is responsible for the environment, forestry and aquaculture, and visits Norway in the capacity of being Minister for the Environment. He did, however, also meet Pedersen to discuss possibilities for a strengthened and deepened cooperation between Scotland and Norway on aquaculture and challenges related to climate change.
Today’s meeting is a follow-up of Pedersen’s meeting with Scotland’s Minister of Fisheries Richard Lochhead 4 March this year, where they discussed EU’s anti-dumping measures and Lochhead opened for further collaboration on aquaculture.
In their discussion today, Russell and Pedersen also touched upon other issues of common interest for the two ministers, such as rural development and access to the Russian market.
