New state secretary in KRD

In today’s session of the Council of State the King has appointed Ms. Janne Sjelmo Nordås (43), county councillor, Hattfjelldal, as state secretary to Minister of Local Government and Regional Development Magnhild Meltveit Kleppa.

Janne Sjelmo Nordås has since 2007 been county councillor in the County of Nordland, responsible for industry and business affairs. She is member of Nordland County Council since 1999, leader of Nordland Centre Party, deputy member of the Storting, and member of the Regional Committee for the Counties of Nord-Trøndelag, Nordland, Troms and Finnmark. She has earlier combined farming with the running of a holiday centre for children and youth. Ms. Sjelmo Nordås has studied communication management and municipal economy and management.
