Norway's Monarch since 1814

The Norwegian monarchy starts with Harald Fairhair, who united the petty kingships in Norway into a single realm towards the end of the 9th century. Norway was under Danish rule from 1536 to 1814, and in personal union with Sweden from 1814 to 1905.
Since the union with Denmark was dissolved in January 1814, as a result of the Napoleonic Wars, Norway has had the following monarchs:

The Storting (Norway's Parliament) accepted the King’s abdication on 4 November 1814, after Christian Frederik had not been leading the Council of State since 13 August and had left the country on 10 October.

On 7 June 1905 the Storting declared that Oscar II had ceased to act as King of Norway. Oscar II waived his right to the Norwegian throne on 26 October 1905.
