International health cooperation
The purpose of international health cooperation is to contribute to solving health challenges that do not stop at borders, to exchange knowledge and good practise, to develop agreements and schemes that strengthens national efforts for effective prevention and disease control, and to contribute to improving the health situation in Norway's neighboring regions and in other parts of the world.

The purpose of international health cooperation is to promote and safeguard Norwegian health interests, contribute to multilateral solutions and ensure that national measures are developed in the context of what surrounds us.
Norwegian collaboration with EU in the area of health
The European Economic Area (EEA) Agreement is one of Norway's most important international agreements, and cooperation with the EU is of great importance to Norway. Through this agreement, Norway is fully integrated into the EU single market through regulations covering, among other things, food, drinking water, pharmaceuticals and medical devices.
Nordic Health Cooperation
Nordic cooperation takes place both bilaterally and within the Nordic Council of Ministers. The Nordic Council of Ministers is the formal collaboration body of the Nordic governments.
Norwegian involvement in the World Health Organisation
The World Health Organization (WHO) is the United Nations specialised agency for health. Norway has been actively involved in the WHO since the organisation was established April 7, 1948.
