‘The war in Gaza must end. It is causing unimaginable suffering and destruction. It is crucial that the international community intensifies efforts to reach a peace settlement, strengthen humanitarian assistance and establish a Palestinian state. President Sánchez and I have had a productive discussion about the work that is needed,’ said Prime Minister Støre following the meeting.

At the meeting, Mr Støre and Mr Sánchez discussed the immediate need for a ceasefire, emergency aid and the release of hostages, as well as efforts towards a future two-state solution and the relevant UN processes.

The goal of a two-state solution forms the basis of Norway’s long-standing engagement in the Middle East.
