Prime Minister Støre met European Commission President

On Tuesday, Prime Minister Jonas Gahr Støre met with the President of the European Commission Ursula von der Leyen in connection with the UN General Assembly in New York. The two leaders discussed ways in which Europe can strengthen security in an increasingly turbulent world.
‘The EU is our most important market and one of Norway’s close partners. It is vital that we maintain a constructive dialogue with the EU. We appreciate that Commission President von der Leyen and the EU are giving priority to cooperation with close partners such as Norway,’ said Prime Minister Støre.
Mr Støre and Ms von der Leyen also discussed the actions taken by the Government to renew and strengthen cooperation under the EEA Agreement.
