Last wednesday Minister of Petroleum and Energy, Tord Lien, delivered the opening speech at the petroleum research-conference OG21 Forum.

In his speech Lien underlined the importance of OG21 in petroleum research and innovation.

- OG 21 brings together oil companies, academia, suppliers and Government, to develop and implement a national R&D strategy for Norway. It is a good example of how the major stakeholders in the industry work together with the government, says minister of petroleum and energy Tord Lien.

Petoro director Grethe Moen and chairman Torgeir Halle from Schlumberger Norway were also among others who gave presentations during the conference.

OG21 was established in 2001 and is Norway´s technology strategy for petroleum research. The government´s contribution to petroleum research is mainly organized through the Petromaks 2 and Demo 2000 research programs.
