‘Norway has aligned itself with the EU’s sanctions against Iran, and we intend to align ourselves with the sanctions adopted by the EU today as well,’ said Minister of Foreign Affairs Anniken Huitfeldt.

‘I have reacted strongly to the Iranian authorities’ brutal repression of peaceful protests and expressed my concern about the situation for women in Iran,’ Ms Huitfeldt said.

Restrictive measures against Iran are implemented in Norwegian law in the regulations on sanctions and restrictive measures against Iran (Norwegian only), which include a prohibition against selling, supplying, transferring or exporting, directly or indirectly, specified equipment which might be used for internal repression.
