GNSS/GPS-disruptions in aviation

GNSS (Global Navigation Satellite Systems) is a collective term for satellite systems in outer space that have a broad application, including in association with critical infrastructure in aviation. At worst, uncontrolled outage of such infrastructure can have disastrous consequences.

Over a prolonged period in 2018, Norwegian aviation experienced GPS signal jamming from the Russian side of the border.

The report was submitted 19 December 2019 and endorsed by the group of State Secretaries 6 May 2020 (editing completed on 19 December 2019).
